Located in the north of Colombia, you will find Santa Marta and the Tayrona National Park. Here, the mountains of the Sierra Nevada crash against the Caribbean Sea. This mountainous terrain is almost its own independent ecosystem. On a walk through the rainforest, you can see different species of birds, monkeys, squirrels, and other species. Explore Taironaka, a natural and archaeological reserve whose territory extends over what was once an ancient Tayrona city. Learn the history of this thriving civilization.


Day 1 - Arrive Santa Marta – Tayrona National Park

Arrive in Santa Marta, Colombia. Welcome at the Simón Bolívar International Airport and transfer to the selected hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.


Day 2 - Walking Tour Arrecifes

Private service with English-speaking guide. Our guide will meet you at your hotel to start a walking tour in which you can know the Arrecifes sector at the Tayrona National Park. A private vehicle will take you north of the city of Santa Marta and after 1 ½ hour drive you will pass the park reception in the Cañaveral sector, where the trek begins. On this walk through the rainforest you can see different species of birds, monkeys, squirrels, peccary and other species in their natural habitat. After an hour’s walk you get to the spacracular Arrecifes (Reefs) beach. Swimming is forbidden on account of the strong surge and currents. The hike continues for another 20 minutes until Piscina Natural (natural pool), beach where you can swim and then visit the Cabo San Juan de Guía, where you’ll have lunch. Transfer back to your hotel. (BL)


Day 3 - Taironaka

Private services with English-speaking guide. Taironaka is a natural and archaeological reserve whose territory extends over what was once an ancient Tayrona city. The walking trails through the reserve will take you through the history of this thriving civilization. Learn about the drainage systems, terraces, stairs, houses and the daily life of the people that inhabited this territory for over 1.000 years. Visit the Tayrona Museum, which features more than 300 authentic pieces of pottery. After lunch, take a short walk to the river to reach Don Diego: enjoy a pleasant boat ride contemplating natural wealth and landscape the area. Day 4 - Tayrona Park Area – Santa Marta Airport
