Rio de Janeiro has been known as the ‘Wonderful City’ because it combines vibrant culture, architectural and artistic treasures, beautiful beaches, and amazing landmarks such as Christ the Redeemer statue. Start your 6 days in Rio with a city tour to learn about this marvelous city and then have the rest of the time at leisure to explore at your own pace. Maybe ride the tram to the top of Sugarloaf Mountain for panoramic views of the city or relax on the well-known Ipanema Beach, it is up to you.
Day 1 - Arrive Rio de Janeiro
Arrival at the airport and you will be transferred to the hotel with a bilingual guide in Rio de Janeiro
Day 2 - Half Day Old Rio with Museum of Tomorrow
Heading downtown you will meet the Old Rio and have the chance to visit the cultural side of this beautiful city. Rio is also a city of a glorious and noteworthy past, which should be experienced. This privileged tour of Colonial Rio highlights hidden, preserved and authentic Rio, featuring the old neighborhood of Lapa with its aqueduct Archés: Praça xv the Historical Center of Rio where we find the restored viceroy palace and the national history museum, the impressive Candelaria church; as well as the São bento monastery, considered to be the city’s richest historical building. Complementing the tour, passing by the Rio Branco avenue and the fine arts museum, the quaint Cinelandia square and the imposing municipal theater, a scaled down copy of Paris opera.
Visit to the Olympic boulevard and the Museum of Tomorrow
The museum of tomorrow, located in Rio de Janeiro’s revitalized Port area, is one of the city’s most iconic landmarks, designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava. Its futuristic and sustainable architecture is inspired by natural forms, featuring solar panels and a reflecting pool that helps regulate the building’s temperature. Set along the edge of Guanabara bay, the museum impresses not only for its striking beauty but also for how seamlessly it integrates with its surroundings. (B)

Day 3 - Half Day Corcovado & Santa Teresa
Departure from the hotel to Cosme Velho train station to board the train towards Rio's most famous attraction: Christ the Redeemer at the top of Corcovado. Upon arriving at Cosme Velho station, at the foot of Corcovado Mountain, you board the train and head to the top, passing through the dense Tijuca Rainforest, until reaching the 38-meter-tall (125 feet) Christ the Redeemer. The 20-minute ride offers the opportunity to fully appreciate the Tijuca Forest, considered the largest urban forest in the world, covering 7% of the city's territory. Once at the statue, you can take the elevator and escalator, or the traditional way via the 222-step staircase. When you reach the foot of the statue, the view and the majesty of Christ the Redeemer will leave you in awe of such beauty! From there, you can see most of the city, all of the South Zone, and even Niterói. It's a unique view that will amaze you. You can explore all sides and views of Corcovado and take incredible photos. In the bohemian neighborhood, Santa Teresa has a completely different vibe from the rest of Rio. This is where Old Rio comes alive. It's a neighborhood where casual charm and tradition meet. Santa Teresa is full of artists who find in its streets an inspiring setting and a way of life that fuels their creativity — whatever their craft may be. (B)
Day 4 - Half Day Sugar Loaf & Botanical Garden
You will be taken to the neighborhood of Urca, where Sugar Loaf is located. The visit is made in two steps by cable car. The first one takes passengers to Urca Hill which is 215 meters high, with a beautiful view of the Guanabara Bay and its islands, the Rio-Niterói bridge and Corcovado hill. From this stage, a second cable car will go up to the top of the mountain, with 395 meters high and a splendid view from Copacabana beach, the Santa Cruz fortress and some beaches of Niterói. Then, you be taken to the Botanical Garden. It was founded in 1808 by king D. João VI, with the purpose to create a garden for acclimatization of plant species from other parts of the world. Until today it is one of the most iconic sites of Rio and a very important center of botanical research. The place holds about 7.200 species of plants, the Imperial Palm trees with it's incredible height are the main attraction of the Garden. The area of 141 hectares shelters the most exotic flora from many parts of Brasil, like the Vitoria Regia and the wild orchid from the Amazon Forest. The walk also permits you to see several threatened species of extinction, such as the brazilwood. (B)
Day 5 - Half Day Tropical Paradise & Telegraph Stone Trail by jeep - Shared
Discover a breathtaking world far from the city’s hustle and bustle, where mountains covered with tropical forests meet the crystal-clear waters of the ocean. On this tour, you will explore a side of Rio known only to locals. This Tropical Paradise is located in Rio’s western zone, about 1 hour from Copacabana. We will depart from Rio and soon arrive at Barra da Tijuca, continuing along the coastline. Passing through this stunning landscape, in our jeep you’ll see countless beaches, including Barra do Recreio, Prainha, and Grumari. We will stop at Grumari Beach (but don’t worry, we’ll be back soon) before starting our adventure along the mountain trail. After the jeep ride, we’ll begin our hike, lasting about 2.5 hours, leading us to incredible views and exploration. At the top of Pedra do Telégrafo, you’ll understand why this is such a well-kept secret! At 354m above sea level, you’ll have a panoramic view of Rio: Pedra da Gávea, Restinga da Marambaia (an incredible 42 km sandbank stretching along the ocean), and all the beaches we passed by on the jeep ride. On a lucky day, you may even catch a glimpse of Christ the Redeemer!
Relax, take a deep breath, and admire the breathtaking natural scenery of Rio. This is the perfect moment to capture sensational and daring photos at the most stunning peak of Rio’s West Zone. After spending quality time with nature, we’ll return by jeep on the way back to Grumari. Our next stop will be the charming wooden kiosk by the beach, where the calm and clear waters are perfect for relaxing or taking a refreshing swim. Enjoy sunbathing and the spectacular views – you’ll quickly understand why we call this tour Tropical Paradise! After soaking in this paradise, our return journey will follow the coast with even more impressive views. A day away from the crowds, a visual adventure you’ll never forget! (B)
Day 6 - Depart Rio de Janeiro
You will be transfered from the hotel after breakfast to the airport to take your flight with a bilingual guide. (B)
