10 Days: Buenos Aires, Salta, Cafayate, Purmamarca & Puerto Iguazú

Arrive in Buenos Aires and explore this iconic gem of South America. Visit some of the city’s most historical neighborhoods before taking Tango lessons in its country of origin. Depart for Salta and explore its streets, churches, and colonial buildings. Travel to Salinas Grandes, the world’s third largest salt flats before visiting Puerto Iguazu, one of Seven Wonders of the Natural World. Explore the world-famous Iguazu Falls on the Brazilian side before returning to Buenos Aires.
Day 1 - Arrive Buenos Aires
Arrival at the airport and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, we make a panoramic tour of the city. We start in Plaza de Mayo, scenery of the most important events of the country from 1810, to then continue to the neighbourhood of La Boca and finish in Palermo and Recoleta. In the evening, we attend a dinner show where we take a tango lesson, learn the basic steps of this rhythm, and then enjoy the magnetism of tango. (D)
Day 2 - Buenos Aires / Salta
Fly to Salta this morning. In the afternoon, the city awaits us to explore Salta by a walk through its streets, churches, colonial buildings and the Museum of High Mountain Archaeology (MAAM), in charge of sharing and conserving the “Niñosdel Llullaillaco”, one of the most important archeological discovers in the last decades. Day 3 - Salta / Cachi / Cafayate
Departure from Salta to start our trip through Calchaquíes Valleys. During the trip, we stop at Del Obispo Slope, Recta de Tin Tin and Los Cardones National Park. Arrival at Cachi and enjoy free time for lunch (not included) and walk around the town. We continue towards Cafayate through National Route 40, passing by enchanting towns such as Seclantas, Angastaco and Molinos, apart from amazing De Las Flechas Gorge. Arrival at Cafayate.(B)

Day 4 - Cafayate / Salta
In the morning, we explore the city, The Vine and Wine Museum and a winery. After lunch (not included), departure towards Salta visiting De Las Conchas Gorge, characterized by its curious formations, such as the Amphitheatre and the Devil´s Throat, both consequence of wind and water erosion. Arrival in Salta and accommodation. (B)

Day 5 - Salta / Purmamarca
Early departure travelling along Del Toro Gorge to reach the town of San Antonio de los Cobres and discover part of the route that the Train of the Clouds used to do. After lunch (not included), we continue along the Puna to reach Salinas Grandes Salt Flat, the third largest in the world. Then, we descend along De Lipan Slope to Purmamarca, where the well-known Cerro de los Siete Colores (Seven Colours Hill) is located. (B)

Day 6 - Purmamarca / Salta
Today we explore Humahuaca Gorge, a Humanity Cultural Heritage by UNESCO, visiting typical and colorful villages such as Tilcara with its Pucara, Uquía and Humahuaca. On the way back, we stop at Maimará, to admire Paleta Del Pintor (the Painter’s Palette). Return to Salta. (B)

Day 7 - Salta / Puerto Iguazú
Morning at leisure. At due time transfer to the airport to embark towards Puerto Iguazu. Arrival and accommodation.(B)
Day 8 - Puerto Iguazú
In the morning, we visit Iguazú National Park, Argentinian part of the falls, which has been declared Natural Heritage Site and one of the Seven Wonders of the Natural World. During the tour, we go through the three circuits of the park: Garganta Del Diablo (to reach the balcony and viewpoint of the most imposing waterfall of the park), The Upper (that provides a vertical view) and The Lower (that offers a closer contact with the vegetation and the falls). During the tour, time for lunch (included) and optional chance to take The Great Adventure, an excursion that combines a boat ride at the foot of some waterfalls and a crossing through the jungle. In the afternoon, return to the hotel.(B)
Day 9 - Puerto Iguazú / Buenos Aires
We leave Puerto Iguazú to get Foz do Iguaçu in Brazil and visit the waterfalls in the Brazilian side. We enter the park and walk along the only path that leads to the viewpoint of Gargantadel Diablo. While we walk, we are able to appreciate a panoramic view of almost all the falls. Return to Puerto Iguazú to board the flight to Buenos Aires. (B)
Day 10 - Buenos Aires
Time at leisure. If your flight allows it, we suggest you take “Fiesta Gaucha” (Gaucho Party) tour, to taste the traditional Argentinian barbecue: “asado”. At due time, transfer to the airport to board the scheduled flight. (B)
