9 Days: Buenos Aires, Ushuaia & El Calafate
Tour overview:

This tour starts in cosmopolitan Buenos Aires and then travels to both sides of Patagonia. You will first visit Ushuaia in Chile with a boat trip in the Beagle channel where you can see sea lions, fur seals, and penguins. The tour then travels East to El Calafate in Argentina where you can gaze in wonder at the Perito Moreno Glacier.


Day 1 - Arrive Buenos Aires

Arrival at the airport and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, we make a panoramic tour of the city. We start in Plaza de Mayo, witness to the most important events of the country since 1810. Here, we are able to learn about the current situation of the country, while we appreciate the surrounding buildings. We continue to the neighborhood of La Boca to walk along the famous Caminito alley and its colorful “conventillos”. Our last stop is Recoleta to discover the aristocratic part of the city. Back to the hotel. In the evening, we attend a dinner show where we take a tango lesson, learn the basic steps of this rhythm, and then enjoy the magnetism of tango. (D)


Day 2 - Buenos Aires

Day at leisure to enjoy an optional tour.(B)


Day 3 - Buenos Aires / Ushuaia

At due time, transfer to the airport to board the flight to Ushuaia. Arrival, reception, and accommodation.

Afternoon at leisure to continue discovering the destination. If you are a nature lover, we suggest you to visit Martillo Island, one of the few sites where it is possible to walk with Papuan penguins. Check the available options according to your trip date (B)


Day 4 - Ushuaia

Departure from the hotel heading west to the Tierra del Fuego National Park, framed by excellent panoramic views of the Beagle Channel. A journey through beaver dams leads to Lapataia River and Verde Lagoon and then continues along the final stretch of National Route 3, which finally ends at Lapataia Bay. From here, the return to Ushuaia begins, making a stop on the way to admire the Acigami Lake (former Roca Lake), notable by its changed-by-weather water’s colour. After the tour, we return to the hotel. Afternoon at leisure to continue discovering the destination. If you are a nature lover, we suggest you should visit Martillo Island, one of the few sites where it is possible to walk with Papuan penguins. However, if you prefer landscapes, we recommend you explore the lakes area and experiment the adrenaline in a 4×4 excursion. Check the available options according to your trip date. (B)


Day 5 - Ushuaia / El Calafate

Transfer to the airport to board the scheduled flight to El Calafate. Arrival, transfer and accommodation.Afternoon at leisure to tour the town or to visit the Glaciarium Ice Museum that helps us to understand the relevance of the glaciers that we will be visiting the next few days. (B)


Day 6 - El Calafate

Departure from the hotel towards Perito Moreno Glacier, located in Los Glaciares National Park, which thanks to its breathtaking beauty, has been declared a Natural Heritage Site by UNESCO. The glacier is an impressive mass of ice with an area of 257 square kilometres and a front wall that has a height between 50 and 60 meters (165 to 200 ft.) above lake level. During the tour, a walk along the paths located in front of the glacier, allows us to admire this impressive natural wonder from different viewpoints. This tour is enhanced by a 1-hour boat ride, which allows us to enjoy a different perspective of the glacier front wall from the water level. Free time for lunch (not included). In the afternoon, return to the hotel.(B)


Day 7 - El Calafate

Day at leisure to take optional tours, ideal for visiting El Chaltén, Torres del Paine or making a boat trip through the Argentino Lake.(B)


Day 8 - El Calafate / Buenos Aires

Time at leisure to explore the town of El Calafate, until the transfer to the airport. Meet and greet at Buenos Aires’ airport and transfer to the hotel. (B)


Day 9 - Buenos Aires

In due time, transfer to the airport. (B)
