10 Days: Buenos Aires, Ushuaia, El Calafate & Puerto Iguazu
Tour overview:
Explore the best of Argentina. Buenos Aires, Patagonia, and Iguazu Falls. In Patagonia, you will first visit Ushuaia in Chile with a boat trip in the Beagle channel where you can see sea lions, fur seals, and penguins. The tour then travels East to El Calafate in Argentina where you can gaze in wonder at the Perito Moreno Glacier and visit one of the Seven Modern wonders of the Natural World, Iguazu Falls.
Day 1 - Arrive Buenos Aires
Arrival at the airport and transfer to the hotel.
In the afternoon, we make a panoramic tour of the city. We start in Plaza de Mayo, witness to the most important events of the country since 1810, from where we are able appreciate the surrounding buildings. We continue to La Boca, where we explore its colourful streets due to the ‘conventillos’ and the famous Caminito street. Our last stop is Recoleta to discover the aristocratic part of the city, where Recoleta’s Cemetery is located. Back to the hotel.
Day 2 - Buenos Aires
Day at leisure to enjoy an optional tour. (B)
Day 3 - Buenos Aires / Ushuaia
At the due time, transfer to the airport to board the flight to Ushuaia—arrival, reception, and accommodation.
Afternoon at leisure to continue discovering the destination. If you are a nature lover, we suggest you to visit Martillo Island, one of the few sites where it is possible to walk with Papuan penguins. Check the available options according to your trip date. (B)
Day 4 - Ushuaia
Departure from the hotel heading west to Tierra del Fuego National Park, framed by excellent panoramic views of the Beagle Channel.
A journey through beaver dams leads to Lapataia River and Verde Lagoon and then continues along the final stretch of National Route 3, which finally ends at Lapataia Bay. From here, the return to Ushuaia begins, making a stop on the way to admire the Lake Acigami (former Lake Roca), featured by its changed-by-weather water’s colour. (B)
Day 5 - Ushuaia / El Calafate
Transfer to the airport—arrival, transfer, and accommodation.
Afternoon at leisure to explore the city, visit the Glaciarium, a museum dedicated to glaciology, or participate in an activity to get to know the steppe while you enjoy a lunch or dinner. (B)
Day 6 - El Calafate
Visit to the Perito Moreno Glacier, located in the Los Glaciers National Park and declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The glacier is an impressive river of ice with an area of 257 square kilometers, and the height of the front wall ranges between 50 and 60 meters above the lake level. During the excursion, a walk along the walkways in front of the glacier allows you to admire this marvel of nature from different perspectives. Free time for lunch (not included). In the afternoon, return to the hotel. (B)
Day 7 - El Calafate.
Day at leisure. Ideal to make a boat trip through Lake Argentino or to enjoy activities that will allow you to explore unique landscapes. (B)
Day 8 - El Calafate / Puerto Iguazu
Transfer to the airport to board the flight to Puerto Iguazu. Arrival, reception and accommodation. (B)
Day 9 - Puerto Iguazu
In the morning, we leave for the Puerto Iguazu National Park to visit the Iguazu Falls, declared a Natural World Heritage by UNESCO and one of the Seven Modern Wonders of Nature. During the tour, we go through the three circuits of the Park: Garganta Del Diablo, The Upper and The Lower Trails. (B)
Day 10 - Depart Puerto Iguazu
In the morning, we visit the Brazilian side of the Falls. Once inside the National Park, we walk along the only path that leads us to Garganta del Diablo viewpoint. As we walk, we appreciate a view of almost all the waterfalls. At due time, transfer to the airport to board the flight. (B)
