Tour overview:

Travel to Cairns, a tropical paradise in Queensland. Take a full day catamaran cruise out to the Great Barrier Reef for an up-close experience with the amazing coral and fish. Experience the day trip to Kuranda which includes one of the world’s most scenic rail routes and the cable car ride above the rainforest.

Day 1 - Arrive Cairns

On arrival at Cairns Airport you will be transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure for you to explore this vibrant city. Stroll along the Esplanade or simply relax in one of the many cafés or on the beach. Browse the night markets and the Pier Marketplace.

Day 2 - Cairns – Great Barrier Reef

Board a high-speed catamaran and cruise out to the Great Barrier Reef. Enjoy a reef education presentation by a marine naturalist and view the spectacular coral and tropical fish from the underwater observatory and the semi-submersible craft. You have the opportunity to go snorkelling and view this natural living wonder up-close (equipment provided). Enjoy a delicious tropical buffet lunch. Return to Cairns early evening. (BL)

Day 3 - Cairns – Kuranda

Full day excursion to Kuranda. Board the famous train for an amazing journey, as you travel one of the worlds most scenic rail routes. Take in the spectacular views as you wind through hand-hewn tunnels and over bridges spanning spectacular gorges. Upon arrival in Kuranda, free time is allowed to do your own exploring in the village– visit the Heritage Markets, local cafes and shops. Board Skyrail Rainforest Cableway for your journey to Smithfield. Once aboard you will be amazed as you glide silently over and through the rainforest. There are 2 stations enroute where you can alight and enjoy a walk through the rainforest to spectacular lookouts; take in the amazing views of Barron Falls from The Edge Lookout and visit the Rainforest Discovery Zone at Red Peak Station. Transfer back to your accommodation. (B)

Day 4 - Depart Cairns

You will be transferred to Cairns Airport to connect with your onward flight. (B)
