6 Days: Amman, Jerash, Ajloun, Madaba, Mt. Nebo, Kerak, Petra, Wadi Rum
Tour overview:

Day 2 - Amman – Jerash – Ajlun – Amman City Tour
This day will be dedicated to visit the north of Amman the Roman city of Jerash. Start the tour greeted by the imposing triple-arched gateway built to honor the Emperor Hadrian's arrival at Jerash in A.D. 129. Visit the Temples of Zeus, the mile-long Street of Columns, the Cardo Maximus, the colonnaded streets, theaters, baths and over 17 churches that were found in Jerash. Lunch at local restaurant; after lunch transfer for about 20 minutes north of Jerash to the village of Ajlun to visit the ancient Saracen Castle named Qalat Al-Rabad, one of the best-preserved examples of the medieval/Islamic military architecture in the entire Middle East…. Transfer back to Amman and start a city tour of the to include the visit of the old/new parts of the city as well as the Citadel the Amphitheater end’s at the hotel in Amman.
Day 3 - Amman / Madaba / Mt. Nebo / Shobak / Petra - Hotel
The morning will be dedicated to visiting the sites of Madaba and Mt. Nebo. Madaba, a small town at the head of the ancient King’s Highway (only 40 minutes from Amman), is covered with fantastic mosaics from the Byzantine era. Many are located in private homes, discovered when owners dug foundations or gardens. At St. George’s Cathedral, they will see the most famous of all - a clearly-labeled mosaic map of Jerusalem and the surrounding areas dated 560 A.D., which has helped archaeologists to identify many important sites in Jordan. Mt. Nebo is just west of Madaba, on a cliff overlooking the Jordan Valley and Dead Sea. Long believed to be the burial place or Moses, Mount Nebo has impressive mosaics and other remains from 4th. And 6th. Century A.D. churches, monasteries and hermitages, now maintained by Franciscan priests living near the site… Continue afterwards further south to Shobak Castle is an enchanting castle that was built in 1115 under the rule of King Baldwin I. Shobak Castle is particularly striking due to its remote location in the desert which will make visitors feel a world away from home. Within the castle grounds, visitors can explore the churches, historic ruins, and a secret passageway that leads to a charming spring. The castle also boasts a watchtower, catacombs and a number of Christian carvings and Islamic tablets. End the visit then transfer directly to the hotel in Petra.
