Iceland - Land of Fire & Ice 6 Days (Special Departure)
6 Days : Reykjavik
Tour overview:
Welcome to Iceland !! Icelanders are friendly and welcoming, with a very small population of around 380,000 people. Iceland might look intimidating, thanks to its explosive geography, but it is actually an unusually peaceful and laid back place. Icelandic weather produces a lot of waterfalls and rainbows but also brings challenges; storms with extreme winds and rain- or snowfall are frequent, and weather changes can be sudden. Although the climate can be harsh, it is milder than you would expect from the country’s name and global position at high latitudes. A branch of the Gulf current brings warmer seas up to the south and west coast.
Day 1 - Arrive in Reykjavik
Welcome to Iceland!
Congratulations, you have finally arrived to the land of fire and ice!
Icelanders are friendly and welcoming, with a very small population of around 380,000 people. Therefore ‘everyone knows everyone’. Everyone is also related to everyone in a sense. Iceland might look intimidating, thanks to its explosive geography, but it is actually an unusually peaceful and laid back place. Violent crime is famously low.
“Þetta reddast”: It will all work out - It is used in Iceland for anything from daily affairs to larger life events that implies using your time and energy on a productive way of fixing the problem rather than on lamenting. The Zen-like stance, very much reflected in the weather which is unpredictable, reflects the attitude that there is much out of our control anyways.

Enjoy your time, respect the forces of nature and have fun with the people!
After completing arrival formalities you will be welcomed and transferred to the Blue Lagoon.
Blue Lagoon - Premium Entrance
Visiting the Blue Lagoon is on many peoples bucket list and for a good reason.
The Blue Lagoon is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Iceland – almost everybody who visits the country goes there. It is known all over the world for its beauty and stunning location in the vast, black lava field, as well as and the healing powers of its mineral rich water.
Geologically, the Blue Lagoon is quite unique. It is the result of the water output from Svartsengi geothermal plant – so it is in fact man made, much like the tidal lagoons of regular hydro plants.
Since the actual mineral rich hot water is not used directly, whatever is not used for heating the ground water gets pumped directly into the lava fields surrounding the power plant, creating the Blue Lagoon – the one we all bathe in! The water cools during the production process and by the time it reaches the bathing area, it is cool enough for us to soak comfortably in it.
Included in Premium Entrance:
• Entrance to the Blue Lagoon
• Silica mud mask
• Use of towel
• 1st drink of your choice
• Second mask of choice
• Slippers
• Use of bathrobe
• Table reservation at Lava Restaurant
• 1 glass of sparkling wine if dining at Lava restaurant
A remarkable setting - Lava Restaurant at Blue Lagoon Iceland is a first class restaurant that combines modern dining with the wild spirit of Icelandic nature. Built into an 800-year-old lava cliff on the west bank of the Blue Lagoon, Lava Restaurant is a place where dynamic cuisine and enchanting design create unforgettable culinary experiences.
In-Water-Bar - Quench your thirst without leaving the water. Relax. Refresh. Enjoy Choose from an enticing selection of smoothies, juices, soft drinks, beer, an wine.
Mask Bar - Experience the Blue Lagoon's primary elements at the in-water mask bar. Used in tandem, silica and algae unlock the door to healthy, luminous, ageless skin.
It is a great Idea to have late lunch/early dinner before your departure to the airport. The restaurant is really relaxed and laid back -you can show up in your bath robe and slippers for a meal and then return to the lagoon for the final soak.
Refreshments and treatments are payable on site
It takes about 20 min to drive from the Blue Lagoon to Keflavík Airport.
Later this morning you are transferred to your hotel in Reykjavik.
Later this evening enjoy a 3 course welcome dinner with 2 glasses of wine at a premium restaurant

Day 2 - Golden Circle Superjeep Tour
Want to enjoy the most popular sites in Iceland in an exciting adventurous way? Then this is without a doubt the right tour for you.
The Super-jeep is an experience by itself, a muscular built up 4×4, modified in Iceland to be able to deal with the tough surroundings in the highlands. This is not your normal Golden circle tour, so be ready for a tour of a lifetime.
Thingvellir National Park
Besides being a natural wonder, it is also the sight where the world’s longest continuously run parliament was founded and still running some good 1.000 years later, but now as Althingi in Reykjavik. Thingvellir is also a site of geological wonders, as it lies in a rift valley that marks the crest of the Mid-Atlantic ridge. You can clearly see the rift and how the movement of the tectonic plates pulls the island apart, approximately 2,5 cm every year.
*Please note that Thingvellir national park charges parking fees on designated parking areas around the assembly site.
Kerid Crater
Kerid is a 55m deep and 270m wide volcanic crater that is beautifully streaked with red earth and green mosses, with a turquoise-blue mineral water lake to complete a fantastic spectacle. It’s even possible to walk down a pathway to the crater’s bottom for a better look.
Gullfoss waterfall
The waterfall which gives the Golden circle its name. It is mostly known for its’ beauty, but the sheer power of it has also been the cause of much debate on hydro-plants vs tourism and land preservation.
Geysir Geothermal area
The dormant geyser Geysir, is the one and only geyser that gave all other geysers their name! It is no longer active, but Strokkur geyser erupts every 20 minutes or so, and can reach heights up to 25 meters!
Optional: Snowmobile tour Langjökull glacier
Finally the action starts, heading to the unbeaten paths of the highlands on our way to Europe’s second-largest glacier, Langjökull. We might splash through rivers and action drive on the rough tracks before reaching the snow. “please buckle up” On the glacier, a 1-hour snowmobile ride awaits you, all the gear included for a warm and safe journey. The Superjeep or Super truck is an experience by itself, a muscular built up 4×4, modified in Iceland to be able to deal with the tough surroundings in the highlands.
This is a shared experience

Blessed with geothermal heating and a stunning landscape, we Icelanders have long come to warm pools for relaxation and connection. Over the centuries, we've developed a way to combine the healing powers of warm water, cold water, warm steam, dry heat and fresh air. We use our traditions to integrate these natural elements to promote our well being, inside and out. We're proud to share this with you at Sky Lagoon.
Take your journey deeper and further:
The Skjól 7-Step Bathing Ritual
1. Lagoon - Clients step into the warm waters and relax, breathing in the ocean air. They're able to float through a breathtaking canyon to the infinity edge, taking in views of Mount Keilir as their minds become open to what's to come.
2. Cold plunge - Guests have a couple options for improving their state of mind with cold therapy: They can wander in the fresh Icelandic air or take a quick dip in the cold plunge pool. Either way, the chillier temps will diminish inflammation and tighten skin.
3. Sauna - Following their cold therapy, clients should warm up again in the sauna for 5 to 10 minutes, allowing the heat to open pores, remove toxins and cleanse their skin.
4. Energizing mist - Guests then balance the heat by stepping slowly through Sky Lagoon's cold fog-mist space, which is stimulating and refreshing for mind, body and soul.
5. Sky Body Scrub - Clients exfoliate and reinvigorate by applying the property's signature Sky Body Scrub.
6. Steam room - Steam will once more open the skin, allowing it to absorb the therapeutic elements of The Ritual and maximizing the hydrating benefits of the scrub to improve overall body function.
7. Shower and relax - Guests rinse off the scrub in the shower, then return to the warm geothermal lagoon where they will relax even further. When finished, they can head to the Lagoon Bar for a refreshment.
"The Ritual at Sky Lagoon will provide guests with an immersive and holistic approach to relaxation and well being, "The rejuvenating and transformative experience will enable guests to connect with mind, body and spirit through the radiant powers of geothermal waters."

Day 5 - Lava Tunnel Tour
The Lava Tunnel is also known to Icelanders as Raufarhólshellir, a cave created by volcanic eruption about 5200 years ago. Take a tour through this extraordinary natural phenomenon under guidance from an experienced guide. Explore the magnificent lava tunnel Raufarhólshellir, one of the longest and best-known lava tubes in Iceland.
The tunnel is covered in large rocks and difficult to pass. That is why paths and a footbridge have been constructed so it is easily accessible when doing the Lava Tunnel Tour. Impressive lighting in this part of the tunnel highlights the changing colors and clearly shows the powerful seismic activity that formed the tunnel.
Duration: 1 hour
Included: Guided caving tour (English), flash light and helmet
Bring with you: Warm clothes and sturdy shoes
Reykjanes peninsula (route depending on volcanic activity in the area)
Reykjanes Peninsula is a UNESCO Global Geopark – a cultural, geographical and historical treasure trove where the Mid-Atlantic ridge rises above sea level. Nowhere else in the world can you see the oceanic ridge and its divergent plate boundary as clearly as in Reykjanes. Pillow lava, curious rock formations in the shape of elves, trolls and outlaws put their distinct mark on the amazing landscape of the peninsula.
Garðskagaviti lighthouse
Located in the tiny village Garður, at the far edge of the peninsula. The lighthouse has been inspiration for many artists and novelists and is the home to an amazing folk-museum.
Brimketill lava rock pool
A small pool carved by marine erosion. Folklore relates that the pond was regularly occupied by a giantess named Oddný.
The Bridge Between Continents
A symbolic footbridge which spans a wide tension crack that opened due to the divergent movements of the North American and Eurasian plates. The average rifting amount is about 2 cm per year!
Gunnuhver
A group of mud pools and steam vents which were largely formed by earthquake activity in 1967. The name stems from folklore about the vicious ghost Gunna, who was lured into a vent, never to be seen again.
Seltún
A geothermal area in Krýsuvík, one of the most striking landscapes in Iceland. Steam dominates the area with volcanic vents, fumaroles, mud pots and boiling hot springs. The green hills are painted in earthy colors of golden brown, red, pink, blue, yellow, white and grey.
Kleifarvatn Lake
Kleifarvatn is about 10 km². It is the largest of Reykjanes peninsula and the third largest of southern Iceland. It is about 97 m deep and one of the deepest lakes in Iceland. Its catchment area is small and it has a very limited discharge on the surface. The lake has diminished since year 2000 because of two major earthquakes, which probably opened up fissures at its bottom. In the sixties char fries from Lake Hlidarvatn were released into the lake and have thrived quite well.
Day 6 - Depart from Reykjavik
Today it is time to say good bye for now at least. We hope you have many wonderful memories of your travels through the land of fire and ice.
We welcome you with open arms when you come back to visit us!
