5 Days Hong Kong
Tour overview:
Embrace the serene vistas from Victoria Peak, ascending with the fusion of heritage and innovation aboard the newly modernized Peak Tram. Delve into interactive exhibits, observe the wide variety of fish found in local markets, and explore a genuine, decommissioned fishing boat.
Day 1 - Arrive in Hong Kong
Arrive this evening in Hong Kong, the ‘City of Lights’. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred by private Car to the hotel.
Day 2 - Hong Kong
Begin your exploration with a comprehensive orientation tour of Hong Kong, delving into the rich tapestry of traditional culture and echoes of the colonial past. Embrace the serene vistas from Victoria Peak, ascending with the fusion of heritage and innovation aboard the newly modernized Peak Tram. Descend into the heart of Tai Hang, the cradle of the “Fire Dragon Dance”, and visit the unique Lin Fa Kung Temple. This hexagonal structure, perched upon bare rock, is one of a kind and dedicated to the compassionate Goddess of Mercy. Experience the echoes of history with the Noon Day Gun, a colonial tradition that continues to mark the passage of time in the city. Shift gears to a leisurely pace with a cruise aboard an authentic Chinese junk boat, where the allure of expertly crafted Dim Sum awaits your palate.
Disembark at the Kowloon pier, where we start your miraculous Kowloon with the visit of lively Goldfish Market, discover why these shimmering pets are more than just decorations. They symbolize good luck and wealth, aiding in fostering a harmonious home environment according to Feng Shui principles.
Next, the Flower Market offers a sensory feast of colours and fragrances. Learn about the role of specific flowers in improving luck and creating positive energy at home and work, a fascinating aspect of local culture. (B/L)
Day 3 - Hong Kong Culture Tour
Embark on your late afternoon adventure at Ap Lei Chau, a locale brimming with vibrant maritime culture. Stroll at your leisure through the streets, where vendors exhibit their fresh seafood, a vibrant tribute to the island's seafaring heritage. Next, board a sampan, the local water taxi, for a journey through the Aberdeen Typhoon Shelter. As you navigate the waterways, take in the distinctive way of life of the "floating population," whose existence is intricately tied to these aquatic pathways. Carrying these vivid scenes with you, proceed by local ferry to the serene Sok Kwu Wan on Lamma Island. Upon disembarking, meander along the main street lined with an enticing selection of seafood restaurants, displaying their catch in bustling tanks that may whet your appetite for the meal ahead. Enjoy the visit of the Fisherfolk Village. Here, you can delve into interactive exhibits, observe the wide variety of fish found in local markets, and explore a genuine, decommissioned fishing boat. This living museum, thoughtfully curated by local fisherfolk, provides an intimate look at their traditions and lifestyle.
For a touch of whimsy, engage in "hookless fishing," an amusing challenge where you attempt to catch a fish sans hook. This delightful activity promises to infuse your visit with humour and create unforgettable memories. Take the local ferry at around 17:20 hrs again and return to Central or Kowloon for your self-exploration of the city. Don’t miss the nightly Symphony of the lights show at 20:00 hrs. (B/L)
Day 4 - Hong Kong
Morning is free at leisure
This afternoon, you will enjoy the Ma Wan Island hiking (start at 14:00 hrs). Embark on a tranquil 4-kilometer trek across Ma Wan Island, where a two-hour journey offers a stirring blend of natural beauty and architectural marvels. Your path begins with the modest ascent of Tai Leng Tau, rising 69 meters above sea level, presenting an inviting climb with majestic views of the ocean and the imposing Tsing Ma Bridge.
As you make your way to the piers, anticipate the unveiling of a stunning 270-degree vista of Nam Wan. Reaching the peak of Tai Leng Tau, you are rewarded with a sweeping view of the island's wild shores and the elegant contours of Hong Kong's renowned bridges: Tsing Ma, Kap Shui Mun, and Ting Kau.
Descending into the peaceful South Nam Wan, the grand arches of the Tsing Ma Bridge loom overhead, a striking companion to your trek. Your trail culminates at Tung Wan Beach, a sanctuary where the gentle lapping of waves invites contemplation. The adventure doesn't end at the water's edge. Dive into Ma Wan's rich heritage with a visit to the ancient Klin, a testament to the island’s history, or discover the captivating stories of Noah's Ark. Then, transition to the buzz of modern life at the Maritime Shopping Mall on Tsing Yi, a short bus journey over the Tsing Ma Bridge. Here, indulge in retail therapy, savour culinary treats, and soak up the vibrant ambiance.
Dinner in the local restaurant.
Ma Wan Island hike is a symphony of scenic splendour, historical echoes, and contemporary comforts, crafting an experience that lingers long after the journey's end. *** The island has implemented eco-friendly transport policies; we have to take their licence public transport to access to the island.
