Day 3 - Feb 9 - Cape Town – Cape Peninsula Tour
The Fairest Cape… and it surely is! You'll soon see for yourself where and why it earned its name. Sit back and relax, we're going to cruise along the exquisite stretch of coastline known as Millionaire's Paradise – from Camps Bay and Clifton to the exclusive beach hamlet of Llandudno – towards the charming working harbour of Hout Bay; if you so choose, you can embark on an up-close-and-personal Seal Island cruise. Back on terra firma, we wind along the legendary Chapman's Peak Drive, hugging the cliffs and relishing the breathtaking ocean views. After lunch continue to the wild and beautiful Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, an integral part of the world-renowned Cape Floral Kingdom. Our visit includes a ride on the Funicular up Cape Point. We meander back along the coast towards the City, visiting the historic naval port of Simon's Town and the endearing penguin colony at Boulder's Beach.

Day 4 - Feb 10 - Cape Town – City Sightseeing & Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens
Come with us on the ultimate 'Mother City' experience, designed to orientate and give you a full-color insight into the extraordinary magic of Cape Town. We've chosen iconic buildings, snatches of its history, and experiences unique to this City. First up, it's the cable car to the summit of the legendary Table Mountain – weather permitting – and from there, you'll be able to see to the end of our world, including the City and surrounding layout of this southernmost tip of Africa. We visit the country's oldest building, The Castle, and a short distance away, the Company Gardens, both historically fascinating and well conserved. Our drive continues past Parliament Buildings, City Hall and the Slave Lodge, and you'll sense the depth of history via their distinctive architecture. Colonial then changes to colorful, as we move up the cobblestoned hills to the Malay Quarter, and marvel at the ice-cream colors of the quaint Bo-Kaap homes. We'll explore the riveting District Six Museum (closed Sundays) for a sharp reminder of the past, then tour Langa, the oldest apartheid housing scheme in the Cape.

We will enjoy lunch at the Moyo Restaurant, followed by a visit to the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.
With over 3 000 plant species as part of the Cape Floral Kingdom, and exclusively indigenous South African plants, fynbos, proteas and cycads, you'll love and learn so much as you stroll along the pretty winding pathways which guide one through one of the finest botanical gardens in the world.

We spend the evening at the opulent Gold's Restaurant. Enjoy the Interactive Drumming Experience before sampling cuisine from all reaches of Africa.

Day 5 - Feb 11 - Cape Town – Robben Island & Stellenbosch
Morning excursion by ferry to Robben Island. Cruel home of our Nelson Mandela for so many years, it's a highly charged and emotional moment when you visit the site of this suffering, and realize how far South Africa has come from those days.

We then travel to Stellenbosch to visit with the children and care givers at Graceland pre-school.

See the sights of historical Stellenbosch with its Cape Dutch architecture. Visit one of the wine estates to learn about the wine-making process during a fascinating cellar tour. Tastings at two wine estates before returning to Cape Town.

Evening home hosted dinner… The unique experience of private home dining in Cape Town, with friendly hospitality and delicious food that are synonymous with South Africa

Guests can step into the relaxed ambience of the lodge with its lush indigenous garden dappled in shade, lounges, bar, enormous sparkling pool and thatched dining areas punctuated with original South African art. Traversing over 9000 hectares of supreme and diverse vegetation, with its three perennial rivers and huge Jackelberry and Leadwood trees, Shiduli is home to the Big 5, as well as a wealth of other smaller creatures and bird species.

This afternoon enjoy your first game drive in open 4WD vehicle. Later, experience a delicious dinner at the lodge.

Day 7 & 8 - Feb 13 & 14 – Greater Kruger Area
Roam the reserve in open 4WD vehicles in search of elephant, leopard, cheetah, kudu, giraffe, Cape buffalo, hippo and other species. Your mid morning walk is an opportunity to feel the pulse of Africa through the soles of your feet and experience the bushveld at close quarters. The magnificent game viewing makes for perfect photographic opportunities; enjoy the view of the Lowveld from a "kopje" amid the lush vegetation, huge variety of trees and over 365 different bird species. Game drives are conducted with our qualified game rangers and Shangaan trackers – who will share their vast experience of the African Bush and a chance to view Cheetah on foot.

Day 9 - Feb 15 – Greater Kruger Area / Johannesburg – Soweto
Enjoy one last early morning game drive before we transfer to the airport for our flight to Johannesburg.

SA #126 – Hoedspruit HDS / Johannesburg JNB – 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM.

Upon arrival, embark on your tour of Soweto. SOWETO, acronym for South Western Township, is home to over 2 million people, who, despite living in crowded and chaotic conditions, have a tangible sense of community. Inside Soweto, we visit the Hector Pieterson Museum, and discover the cause of the tragic riots which led to his death; we pass Mandela House, and give you time to visit this fascinating little museum. Our journey continues to Regina Mundi Church, site of many secret underground meetings of the then banned political parties. Finally we take you past the largest stadium in Africa, Soccer City, host of the 2010 FIFA World Cup Final - this magnificent stadium is now nicknamed 'The Calabash' for its resemblance to the African Pot. Soweto is unlike a suburb you've ever seen or been to, yet the history of struggle encapsulated here is a cornerstone of the South African story.

Day 10 - Feb 16 – Johannesburg / Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe)
This morning transfer to the airport for our flight to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.

SA #040 – Johannesburg JNB / Victoria Falls VFA – 10:50 AM – 12:35 PM.

Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel. Enjoy uninterrupted views of spectacular African sunsets and year round game at the on-site waterhole.

Later this afternoon, enjoy the sundowner cruise on the Zambezi River followed by dinner at The Boma Restaurant. The Boma dinner is a must-do experience, with exuberant cultural songs, dances and an extraordinary traditional meal! This unique dining experience, coupled with a feast of cultural entertainment, is a magical night out to remember. You'll also be tucking into traditional Zimbabwean delicacies for dinner...and for the bravehearts among us, we've a few lightly grilled Mopani worms. Yes, it's a night you won't forget.

Day 11 - Feb 17 – Victoria Falls – Falls & Village / Chobe National Park
This morning we're exploring Victoria Falls inside, outside, and right from the top - it's a full tour, and you'll thrill to every aspect of the fascinating stroll through the permanent gentle rain and mist occurring alongside the Falls, stopping off at the key view sites for a photo call! Here, you'll be bombarded by the mighty roar of tons of water crashing over the series of ledges – it's literally breathtaking.

Proceed with an interactive visit to the local village, where we meet and learn more of the active roles played by both men and women in this society. We'll visit an actual homestead in the village, talking to those who live and work there, and watching their lifestyle and cultural norms. You'll also find a small curio shop here, filled with homemade items for sale, all crafted by the extended family members of this homestead.

Later today, transfer by road and boat to the Chobe National Park, Botswana. These combined wetlands, dry woodlands and savannas are home to a huge elephant population. The Mowana Safari Lodge lies on the banks of the Chobe River, where four African countries (Botswana, Zambia, Namibia and Zimbabwe) meet. This is also the point in which the Chobe and Zambezi rivers converge. Enjoy a late afternoon game-viewing cruise on the Chobe River.
