5 Days: Zermatt, Gornergrat

Zermatt is a lively winter resort high up in the Alps with its trademark mountain peak, the Matterhorn, towering over the village. Day 1 – Arrive In Zermatt

Arrive in Switzerland; onward by rail to Zermatt. Pick-up by hotel from the station and settle into your room with Matterhorn View and balcony. A sumptuous evening meal with choice will let you relax from today’s travel.

Day 2 – Explore The Area

Enjoy a generous buffet breakfast at your hotel this morning with hot and cold dishes. Your first full day in Zermatt is at leisure. Get to know the different areas, visit the Matterhorn Museum explaining the development of Zermatt as well as the triumphs and tragedies of the people who tried to conquer the mighty Matterhorn mountain. Dinner at your hotel.

Day 3 – Gornergrat Excursion

Breakfast at your hotel. The excursion to the Gornergrat is one of the most famous and truly spectacular experiences in Zermatt. A cogwheel train crosses stunning bridges and travels through tunnels and idyllic forests up to 3,089m. The view of 29 peaks from the top is dominated by the dramatic Matterhorn. Why not try one of the prepared walking paths or soak up some sunshine on the terrace of the Gornergrat Restaurant?

Day 4 – At Your Leisure
