5 Days: Athens, Delphi, Argolis
Tour overview:

Your tour begins in Athens, one of the world’s oldest cities. Visit historical landmarks: the Parthenon, Hadrian’s Arch, and the Acropolis. Continue to Delphi, a sacred sanctuary of the Greek god, Apollo or choose a visit towards the Peloponnese where you will see the impressive Corinth canal and Epidaurus, famous for its acoustical theatre. On the last full day, enjoy time shopping and exploring the amazing sights Greece has to offer.


Day 1 - Arrival / Athens

Arrival at the Athens airport, welcome assistance and transfer to your hotel in Athens.


Day 2 - City tour / Athens

A morning panoramic tour will take you around to the most important monuments and landmarks of the city including: Panathinaikon stadium, Zappeion, Temple of Olympian Zeus, Hadrian's Arch, Syntagma square, Parliament, tomb of the unknown soldier, Schliemann's house, Academy, University, National Library, and old Parliament. You will then visit the Acropolis, including the Propylaea, the temple of Athena Nike, the Parthenon, and the Erechtheion; and the Acropolis Museum where findings from the area, like the Caryatides, have found their home. Afternoon at leisure to explore Plaka, and the historical center at your own pace. (B)


Day 3 - Delphi / Athens

This morning you will depart on a full-day tour to Delphi. Built on the slopes of mount Parnassos overlooking the vast olive groves and the Corinthian gulf, Delphi used to be the most sacred spot in the world and a pilgrimage center for many centuries in antiquity. You will admire the Sanctuary of Apollo, walk the Sacred way, see the temple of Apollo, home of Pythia (the oracle), before the return drive to Athens. (B,L)



Day 3 - Argolis / Athens

After our breakfast we depart towards the Peloponnese. First stop will be at the impressive Corinth canal and we continue to Epidaurus with its theater, famous for its acoustics. Our day continues as we will be arriving in Nafplion for a short stop. Our next visit will be to Mycenae «rich in gold» as Homer mentions, with the Cyclopean walls, and the tomb of Agamemnon with the famous Lion’s Gate. In the afternoon we will take the road back to Athens. Overnight in Athens.



Day 4 - Corinth canal, Mycenae, Nafplio / Athens

Depart on a full-day tour to the Peloponnese. You will admire the impressive Corinth canal, and visit to Mycenae, «rich in gold» as Homer mentions, with the Cyclopean walls, and the tomb of Agamemnon with the famous Lion’s Gate. You will then explore Nafplio, dominated by the venetian castle of Palamidi, on a walking tour through the narrow cobble-stones streets of the old city with the neo-classical buildings and the sea-front promenade facing the tiny fortified islet of Bourtzi, before taking the road back to Athens. Day 5 - Depart Athens

At the indicated time, transfer to the airport for your departure flight. (B)
